If you are looking for a Lincolnshire Ceilidh Band to get your party, event or wedding going, then look no further! Elusive Black Dog are known on the circuit for their lively shows, great musicianship and friendly attitude. Their performance builds up from the moment they strike up playing Irish, English and traditional music in their upbeat, lively way.
The caller, one of the most energetic around, will have everyone on their feet from the first dance onwards - the other band members have all played in numerous rock, pop or classical groups and create a wild, foot-stomping sound you won't be able to resist dancing to; no "diddley diddley" music here with a line-up of electric guitar, electric bass and rocking drums backing a good, solid fiddle and melodeon. In short the perfect sound for a wild Lincolnshire Ceilidh. Complemented by a fully contained PA and lighting rig the fun won't stop until you do!
Ceilidh music may be provided by an assortment of fiddle, flute, tin whistle, accordion, bodhrán, and in more recent times also drums, guitar and electric bass guitar. The music is cheerful and lively, and the basic steps can be learned easily; a short instructional session is often provided for new dancers before the start of the dance itself. In Ireland the first ceilidh band was put together in 1926 by Séamus Clandillon, Radio Éireann's director of Music, in order to have dance music for his studio-based programmes.
